Solar Panels Technicians

Solar PV panels will operate even if they are not orientated towards the south. We have found that panels at a lower angle will produce more power over the year. It has always been thought that panels must be south and south only. This is a myth. We have solar installed on our offices and showroom, and they are north-east and north-west. They are performing really well. Don’t get us wrong, we are not advocating putting all panels on a north roof, we did it because that was all we had, but it proves that solar works from light.

A solar PV panel installation causes minimum disruption to the home or business and systems can be retrofitted. A typical silicon cell is quite small, approx. 100mm x 100mm square. Solar cells produce electricity at low voltage but when more power is required a number of cells can be connected together to create photovoltaic modules, or solar PV panels.

Solar PV panels that are connected together in series are often referred to as an ‘array’. A grouping of solar PV panels can be fitted in different configurations depending on the local conditions e.g. to follow the shape of a roof or to avoid a roof light.

Solar advancements mean that using certain technology we can install panels in any location, and they work individually, so shading is no longer an issue. Solar PV panels usually have a backing sheet that is opaque, but the backing can be transparent, allowing some light through and creating a dappled effect.

On Grid

On grid means that the solar PV system is connected directly to the national power grid through your mains domestic supply. This means you can export excess electricity back into the grid and trade this electricity which will allow you to quickly receive payback on your installation.

Off Grid

An off-grid system means that it is not connected to the national power grid, this may be because there is no electrical power supply to the property. In this case, the power will be stored in lithium batteries and a small generator will act as the grid meaning you are never without power.

Funding

Here at the energy guys, we realise that one of the main barriers to the adoption of renewable energy is the cost. As such we have worked to remove this barrier and we can offer various methods of financing options for your other renewable projects.

We work closely with our own financing company so that you can spread the cost of the system monthly!

There are many ways of financing renewable projects and they are always changing as new incentives come along so contact us for the latest news. The energy guys can help you get your renewable project off the ground whatever your circumstances.

Lock in your Electricity for 20 years at 12p per kWh.

If the energy grid gave you the option of most of your energy at 12p per kWh instead of 30p and upwards in the current market. But to do this you had to buy a block of energy from the grid, upfront. You’d be hard-pressed to say no to this. Well, this is now the case with solar panels. Surely it’s worth looking into?

Purchase Outright

Using cash to purchase a Solar PV system will offer the highest return on investment (ROI) and shortest payback period. With no loan interest involved, you can directly compare the Internal Rate of Return with other purchases you may be considering. The ROI will always depend on numerous factors such as location or orientation, but you can expect an annual return of anywhere between 10 to 20 per cent by purchasing a Solar PV system.

Finance

By taking out finance to pay for the Solar PV you are spreading the purchase cost over 1 – 7 years. Interest rates are an average of 5% depending on your circumstances and credit rating. By spreading the repayments over a 6- or 7-year term, most of our customers report that their loan repayments are covered by the income and savings provided by Solar PV. Put simply, from the moment the system is switched on, your energy bills are reduced without increasing monthly outgoings.
